מזמור לתודה / Mizmor L’Todah A Psalm of Thanksgiving
For many years now, I have composed a number of pieces for any number of reasons: commissions, special occasions, worship services, and even school assignments. This album is a small cross section of some of my favourites. Stylistically located somewhere between popular song and art song, I have also included brief introductory texts for each, giving you an idea of the who, what and why of each composition. It was also a chance to sing with my good friend Mark Camilleri, accompanying on Imagine Sound Studio’s 11’ Bösendorfer grand piano!
Joining me: Accompanist Mark Camilleri is one of the major player’s in Canada’s musical life. As a music director, pianist, composer, arranger, accompanist, engineer, producer, conductor, or recording studio owner, Mark has worked with the best of the best. Among many highlights: contracting and conducting virtually every major Broadway show produced in Toronto; musical director of The Tenors; and accompanying or conducting Andrea Bocelli, Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton, Marvin Hamlisch, Paul Anka, Celine Dion and David Foster, among many others.
Joining Mark and me are Louise Camilleri, a highly regarded performer on television, film and the Broadway stage; and composer and performing artist Susan Piltch on flute.
